Absolutely Nothing! You never pay us a dime. When you fill out the form to the right, you will receive a FREE, NO OBLIGATION financial consultation and analysis. Ultimately, the advisors get paid a commission on the investment and insurance products that they sell, or you can choose to pay them an hourly fee (called a fee-based advisor). Ultimately though, the choice is yours. Most of the advisors that we recommend working with are commission based so that no money comes out of your pocket for consultations.

The short answer is “No.” With that being said, it is always best to get a full analysis done by your advisor so that any financial product recommendations can work in cohesion with the rest of your financial plan. However, if you would rather, for example, to just get a quote for an insurance product or do a 401(k) rollover, we can absolutely assist you in doing that. All you have to do is fill out the form to the right and we will match with you a financial advisor who can provide you with your requested information.

In general, financial advisors provide, what is called, a “needs-based” analysis. They will take you through a fact finding process in which they will ask you questions to get a clear picture of your current financial situation and also find out where you want to be in the future personally, professionally, and financially. Based on your answers to the questions that your advisor will ask, your financial advisor will then take that information and develop a financial analysis of your current situation and make recommendations that will ultimately improve your financial security moving forward.

As was stated in the above FAQ, “What makes Heritage different from other financial firms,” Heritage in itself does not sell any investment products. Instead, we have partnered with financial advisors from other firms across the country, and those advisors are all licensed and registered to sell investment vehicles and variable insurance products.

First thing, as was stated in the above FAQ, “What makes Heritage different from other financial firms,” Heritage in itself does not sell any insurance products. Instead, we have partnered with financial advisors from other firms across the country, and those advisors are all licensed and registered to sell life insurance, disability insurance, long term care insurance, annuities, and health insurance.

This is one of the most important questions and also where many financial advisors fall short in their work and dedication to their clients. Overall, your financial advisor should be contacting you at least once a year to at least get an update on your situation to see if anything has changed or needs to be updated. Accordingly, you should have your financial plan reviewed if you experience a life event (ie, marriage, birth of a child, retirement, etc…). Some people may require more frequent attention depending on age, goals, and objectives, but overall, your advisor should indicate to you during your initial meeting how he/she plans on communicating with you moving forward and when you can expect to meet again. During our vetting process, we make sure that the advisors we recommend to you have developed a reputation for having a strong and long-term relationship with their clients so that you can expect the same.

There is a very clear difference between Heritage and other financial firms…we are not a financial firm in the traditional sense. We do not have in-house advisors or offer our own financial products. Instead we are here to streamline the process for you when choosing a financial advisor to work with for your insurance and investment needs. It is our goal to save you time and money during this process by making sure you do not make an error when choosing an advisor on your own or purchase the wrong financial products without speaking with a professional first. You can view Heritage as a middle man between you and the financial advisor, such that, we have already done the research for you in regards to identifying the best financial advisors in your area. So, when you fill out the form to the right for your free consultation, you will also receive a NO OBLIGATION personal financial analysis and get matched up with an advisor in your local area based on your specified goals. All of this is done at absolutely no cost to you.

Just like most things in life, you can either do something yourself or utilize the expertise of a professional. Should you build a deck by yourself or should you hire a contractor? Should you put together a will on your own or use the help of a lawyer? When it comes to finances, there are tons of resources out there offering DIY financial advice, including books, magazines, websites, and TV and radio “gurus.” It is not to say that the people preaching their investment and financial planning advice aren’t smart or know what they are talking about, but the issue is, they do not know your personal financial situation! So a financial vehicle that may be perfect for someone else, may be awful for you. This is so important to understand, and is why it is so important to get the help of a financial professional to look at where you are at currently with your financial planning, get an idea of your short term and long term goals, and accordingly, put together a PERSONAL financial plan. When you fill out the form to the right for a personal consultation, you will also receive a free and personal financial analysis.  It is a RISK FREE, NO OBLIGATION report to help you determine if working with a financial advisor is right for you.

Even before your first meeting, you will have a brief conversation with your financial advisor to run through how everything will work moving forward. During this chat, your advisor will typically recommend that you bring along certain documents so that he/she can get a more accurate look at your financial situation, which in turn, will help him/her develop a more accurate financial plan for you. Some common documents that you should have handy are:
-Your employee benefits package
-Any investment statements (401(k), IRA, mutual funds, etc…)
-Social Security statement
-Insurance policies (Life, Disability, Long Term Care, Auto, Home)
-Breakdown of monthly expenses
Your advisor may recommend additional documents to bring, but those that are listed are the most common and can help your advisor get a clearer snapshot of where you are at currently and how he/she can help you.

Simply, a Registered Investment Advisors, or RIA, is someone who is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In order for an advisor to offer investment advice and also sell investment vehicles, they must be a RIA. Most financial advisors are registered, however, you need to be careful as there are some insurance agents that are not registered who market popular products, such as annuities, that you think are investments, but in reality are insurance products.  These advisors, who have chosen not to be registered, cannot recommend or sell any investment or variable insurance products. We feel that it is important that you work with an advisor who is licensed for both insurance and investments, so you can have more well-balanced options when putting together your financial plan. Accordingly, all of the financial advisors that we provide to you will be registered.
