Abstract:

This study aimed to determine the impact of using the Internet and computer in teaching mathematics on the motivation to learning and attitude of primary school students. The sample of the study consisted of 94 students of the 8th grade in Tafila School for boys during the academic year 2013-2014. The sample was divided into three groups: two experimental and one control group. The researcher prepared the measure of motivation consisted of 25 items. In addition, he designed the measure of attitudes towards the Internet and computer in learning mathematics. The first experimental group was trained to use Internet, while the second group was trained to use computer. The three groups were pre tested and post tested to determine their moti-vation towards learning mathematics and their attitudes towards using Internet and computer in learning and teaching. However, the third group served as a control group. The results showed that the students of the first group outperformed the second group and the control group. Furthermore investigations on the topic are recommended with other variables such as the achievement and mathematical thinking.
